David Findlay
Professor Findlay is a cell and molecular biologist, who has focused primarily on the physiology and pathology of bone and joints. He completed an MSc and PhD at the University of Melbourne, post-doctoral work at the National Institutes of Health in Maryland, USA, and research at the University of Melbourne, before moving to the University of Adelaide in 1996. He has published over 250 peer-reviewed papers, book chapters and reviews, covering a broad range of topics within the musculoskeletal field. He has an established national and international reputation in musculoskeletal research and in 2016 he was elected Fellow of the International Combined Orthopaedic Research Societies. Much of his recent research has been directed to understanding the changes that take place in the skeleton in osteoarthritis. He has published a book entitled “Good Science, Strong Bones: and the case for supporting discovery”.
