Rachel Chalmers
Rachel is a PhD candidate with the Biomechanics and Spine Research Group at Queensland University of Technology, Brisbane. She has a background in medical engineering, receiving her B.Eng (Hons) in 2019. Her interests are in 3D modelling and additive manufacturing of custom-fabricated medical devices. Rachel’s project is focused on the design of a virtual workflow and additive manufacturing protocol for bespoke spinal orthoses. Her project is patient-centric and has a clinical translation for the conservative bracing management of adolescent idiopathic scoliosis.
